I have to say, initially the reason for this drink experiment was because of Jeff. He is a BIG coffee drinker and overall has turned into a bit of a drink SNOB lol. Having a plain glass of water is not really up his alley and he is always requesting something special to drink. Also, as some of you may have noticed recently on my insta stories, I've been obsessing over Starbuck's Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers! I literally can't stop....they taste as pretty as they look and bring me a bit of happiness in the midst of a busy work week.
So I thought it would be a fun idea to make some drinks and a copycat of the Starbuck's refresher I'm always craving! These are easy to mix up in the middle of your work day or right away when you get home! They are all made without alcohol, but you could certainly add some and then they would taste EVEN BETTER lol!

first up....
Copycat Mango Drangonfruit Refresher
when I was first making this drink, I didn't have a somewhat key ingredient (dragonfruit powder). but I was too excited to not finish this little shoot I put together and honestly, the drink was still amazing! see below for a photo when I finally got my dragonfruit powder..... :)
Recipe:
- 2 tsp. of dragonfruit powder, linked here
- 1 1/2 cups of lemonade
- 1/2 cup mango juice
- 1/2 cup white grape juice
- dragonfruit (for garnish - I purchased mine at trader joes)
- lots of ice
** for a little fun, add pink salt crystals to the rim of your glass. start with dipping the rim in lime juice and roll the edges in some pink salt!
directions: mix the dragonfruit powder with a whisk into your white grape juice so it's well combined with no clumps. then put into a tall glass, add ice and top with mango juice, lemonade and stir. top with dragonfruit!
on the weekend, I would suggest adding a little malibu mango rum to replace the mango juice...yum yum yum! sounds like summer in a cup!

sparkling grapefruit lime spritz
recipe:
- 1 oz. of freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 cup grapefruit italian soda
- 1/2 cup sparkling water of your choice (anything sparkling citrus would be yummy!)
- crushed ice
- blackberry + mint for garnish
directions: fill your cup with ice, pour in the grapefruit italian soda, mix in the lime juice and then top with sparkling water. garnish with blackberry + mint for some pretty color!
** for a little fun, add pink salt crystals to the rim of your glass. start with dipping the rim in lime juice and roll the edges in some pink salt!
on the weekend, I would suggest adding a little gin to keep the extra crisp refreshing flavors going!

tangerine sunrise
recipe:
- 2 cups of tangerine juice
- 1 cup sparkling water
- strawberry for garnish
- crushed ice
description: fill your glass with crushed ice. cut a little slit into your strawberry and add to the rim. add tangerine juice and top with sparkling water.
** for a little fun, add pink salt crystals to the rim of your glass. start with dipping the rim in lime juice and roll the edges in some pink salt!
on the weekend, I would suggest adding some tequila to make it a little tequila sunrise, mmmm mmm mmmmmmm!
I had a lot of fun making these drinks and Jeff even approved! they are truly a perfect little pick me up for the middle of the day. maybe my husband is onto something when it comes to needing a special drink. or maybe it's the carbonation + juice that hits the refresh button for me!!
these would even be perfect to serve in batch at a family get together or when your girlfriends are over and you add a little something extra to your cup (see those suggestions above)!
let me know what you think in the comments below, if you end up making a drink!!
