I’m guessing that you guys would have never noticed this, but sadly I had to rewrite this entire blog post again because it fell into the black hole, upside down, cyber abyss and disappeared right off my website.
Nonetheless I always work really hard on my content and love sharing with you all so here it goes again....
Sugar cookies are my favorite dessert to make for certain holidays and Valentine’s Day is one of them! I always make my cookies from the Betty Crocker pouch since that’s what I grew up with at my parents house! They are delicious and super easy to make!
To be honest, my favorite part about making sugar cookies these days is mixing the frosting into the custom colors I want! I use Americolor soft gel paste and it really makes the entire frosting + decorating process so much more fun! Just purchase any vanilla frosting you like and add the colors to that! I usually make + mix about 3 different colors from 1 container of frosting so it goes a long way! When it comes to planning my colors I usually go into with an idea of my color scheme and I have to say, I’m loving the colors I used this time! See below...
The entire reason I love creating and making special moments is to be able to share that with people I love. It’s all about spreading joy and I love the idea of them having a special memory & remembering how that moment truly made them feel. Corny or not, that is what I love! And corny is always in, right?! At least that’s what Iris said in one of my favorite movies, The Holiday... okay, bringing it back. Let's make some valentine sugar cookies!
In addition to these delicious valentine sugar cookies, I have some other yummy goodies I picked up at my local Trader Joe’s and am going to make some goodie boxes to deliver! Instead of taking the time to make a bunch of different desserts I left that task up to the grocery store + I think that’s just fine!
I picked up my delivery box supplies at Michael’s and they turned out super cute! I think as long as you are delivering them in a box with a clear lid or like I did with the clear bags, then you are able to showcase the items and pretty colors inside!
I put each goodie in its own individual little clear baggie with a twist tie and then placed them in my goodie box on top of some valentine colored crinkle paper. I wrapped my homemade sugar cookies neatly in plastic wrap and then set each goodie box in a large clear bag and tied the top with some pretty themed yarn + ribbon I had on hand!
I really love how they turned out and I would love to continue this tradition with other holidays or when I happen to have goodies on hand to share!
I hope you enjoyed following along on how I pulled this all together! And I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day with your loves!
